The level of stress that passenger transportation professionals, and namely school bus drivers, contend with daily is tantamount to that of airline pilots or oil rig workers.

In a recent survey of conducted by TeamDriveSAFE* of school bus drivers from the Southeastern region of the country:

64% of drivers stated that they have matters on the job that mentally distract them while at work.

76% of drivers stated that they have matters at home that mentally distract them while at work.

84% of the drivers stated that they have experienced a traumatic event while driving the school bus in which they felt they had little or no control over the situation.

56% of those drivers stated they were not emotionally and/or mentally prepared to return to work immediately after said traumatic experience.

56% of drivers stated that they feel emotionally drained most days and do not believe that anyone cares.

67% of drivers stated that they feel frustrated and unsupported by their school districts.
